Turn the YouTube you already watch into the language practice you never get around to.

Watch and understand
Dual subtitles under the player: the original line and an English translation, always in sync, on both YouTube's regular and auto-generated tracks.

Look anything up without leaving the video
Click any word for its dictionary entry, in place. No new tab, no copy-paste.
Drag across several words for a translation of the whole phrase plus a gloss for every word in it.
Japanese is properly segmented, so you can click a word in a sentence that has no spaces in it.
The word list mines a whole video's vocabulary at once, filtered to roughly the level you're at.
Save it, then actually remember it
One click turns a word or a sentence into a flashcard, keeping the subtitle line, the dictionary sense you saw, and the timestamp.
Review with FSRS spaced repetition, included free rather than sold as the paid half.
Cards replay their own video clip while you review, so you hear the sentence again in the voice that said it.

Privacy, in plain terms
It runs on youtube.com and lingokeep.com and nowhere else, and never asks for the all-sites permission. There are no analytics of any kind in the extension, and nothing about a video reaches your account unless you deliberately save a card. Turn it off and it stops: no subtitle fetches, no requests, nothing injected into the page.
Who made it
One person, solo. LingoKeep has been on the Chrome Web Store since 3 August 2026. Spanish, Japanese, French and German are in, and I'd genuinely like to know which language should be next.
