Manifest: Home Inventory App

Hey Uneed 👋 I'm Kroll, the dev behind Manifest - Home Inventory.

I collect vintage cameras, so I've got maybe thirty bodies and lenses on a shelf. I never wrote down what any of them are or what they're worth. That seemed fine until I looked into insurance and realized I couldn't list half of it from memory.

The thing that actually cost me money was smaller. One pair of headphones broke while they were still under warranty, but to get the repair I needed the receipt and the serial number and I had neither - so I had to buy a replacement.

So I made Manifest. You take a photo, forward a receipt, or say what you bought, and it pulls the make, model, serial, price, warranty and return window and saves it. You can also point it at a shelf and it logs each item separately. The point is that next time something breaks or you need to prove what you own, the details are already there.

This is very new so I am keen to understand what is broken or could be better.

Honest question for this crowd: if you wanted a digital record of everything you own, what would actually make you keep it up to date? That's the part I'm still trying to crack.
